D2: One day wild great wall hiking! Start from
Simatai great wall, end at Jinshanling great wall in Heibei province.(fast
hiking time 4 hours )Leg care massage will be served at the hotel
upon demande.

D3: Visit the Forbidden city, lunch, and Transfer
to Beijing railway station to take the train to Lanzhou.

| D4: After breakfast go to Bingling Temple
(about 80km from Lanzhou 2hs) where you can have a bird's eye
view of the city. Also there are some of the oldest caves in
China and thankfully, despite their age, they still contain
many well preserved statues and murals. Although a little out
of the way, the grottoes are a day trip that should not be missed.

D 5: Morning arrival in Jiayuguan. Sightseeing
The Hanging Wall on the Hill, Jiayuguan Pass Gate. First built
in 1539 during the reign of the Ming Dynasty emperor, Jiajing.
It was designed as an additional military defense for the fort.
Originally this section was 1.5km in length, |
| but it was shortened to the current 750m due to
frequent battles by armies to conquer the fort. The existing
wall was rebuilt in 1987. Hiking for a while and Visit Jiayuguan

D 6. After breakfast, drive to Dunhuang,
around 380 km. sightseeing features the Mogao Grottoes, which contain
the most impressive and best preserved examples of Buddhist cave
art. Hundreds of sandstone caves hold more than 2000 statues and
45000 paintings of Buddha and Chinese mythological figures.
D7. Breakfast, visit the Yang guan pass , also
known as the Southern Pass, sits 75 kilometers southwest of Dunhuang,
quite ruined with great sections buried in the shifting sands. However,
at its heyday, this system of beacon towers and walls marked the
western border of the Chinese Empire. After lunch drive to railway
station Liuyuan to take overnight train to Turpan.

D8: Morning arrival at Turpan,
Sightseeing, Gaochang Built in the first century B.C. called
Gaochangbi, it used to be a garrison town and later became
a key point along the ancient Silk Road. and Jiaohe Ruins
( ancient Cities ).A historic book records "The State
of South Cheshi made the city of Jiaohe its capital, which
seat at the interjunction of two rivers, hence the name of
'Jiaohe' (the city of joining rivers)." Screened by precipitous
cliffs, the city, built on a 30-meter- (98-foot-) high loess
plateau is 1,650 meters (5412 feet) long and 300 meters (984
feet) wide. Visit sugong minaret. Camping in the grape valley,
Lying at the base of the western end of Flaming Mountains
, 8-kilometer (5-mile-) -long, half-a-kilometer (0.3 mile-)
-wide gorge.

D 9. Passing by Flaming Mountain, Sightsee Underground
irrigation system The ancient Karez system is comprised
of a series of wells and linking underground channels that uses
gravity to bring ground water to the surface, usually far from the
source. In Turpan county there are more than 470 systems, totaling
over 1,600 kilometers (1, 000 miles) of tunnels. It is considered
as one of the three great projects in China with the other two being
the Great Wall and the Grand Canal. (Optional) Thousand Buddha Cave.
Evening transfer to take train(about 18:07) to Kashgar.

D10: Sightseeing south xinjiang on train, arrive at Karshgar ,
transfer to hotel in kashgar.

D11: Morning jeep to the Kalakuli Lake (200kms distance),
tough road, so 4 people in one jeep.
Enjoying beautiful scenery of Kalakuli lake.

D12:. Morning wander around karakuli lake and later
ride camel to Mount Maztagata , then go back to kashgar.
D 13:. Sightseeing, Id Kah Mosque£¬Located
in the center of the city, This yellow-and-white structure has a
central dome and flanking minarets, which usually associated with
mosques in Pakistan or Afghanistan. Shakesimirzha, a ruler of Kashgar,
had the mosque built here first in1442 and it was extended to its
present shape through several renovation work. Apak Hoja Tomb, it
served as the family tomb of Abakh Khoja, the powerful ruler of
Kashgar in the 17th century who was revered as a prophet and second
only to Mohammed. First built in 1640, all five generations of the
family are buried within. There were 72 tombs until an earthquake
destroyed some. The first generation buried here was Yusuf Hoja,
a celebrated Islam missionary. After he died, his eldest son Apak
Hoja died in 1693, buried here and his reputation was greater than
his father's, so the tomb was renamed "Abakh Khoja Tomb".
Shopping at Bazzar ( Sunday Market is the best ).
D 14: Sunday market. A free day at Kashgar for
doing own shopping things. Late afternoon fly to Urumuqi.
D15. visit Xinjiang Museum where you can see exhibition of mummy,
fly back to Beijing!
